Bitter Sweet First Kiss

 

 

 

I was browsing my old files and found my scanned stories I wrote when I was in high school. I immediately type it in word document and pressed save. I kinda felt weird of it. 

 

Just sharing...

 

 

Aside from thinking on how to get her dream gun, she has a lot of thoughts in her mind, twisting together and mixed up at the age of 6. It’s pretty weird though, how can a girl in that age manage to think of what will happen to her in the future. Will she get married like her parents or she will live alone like her aunt who had been sick because of love.

 

She focused on watching cartoons while playing with the remote which is not working anymore and which is not compatible with their old manual television. Tom and Jerry series finished and a love story movie followed. She peeped to see if her father is looking. Her father and mother are in the kitchen as well as her brothers, eating their lunch. She finished her meal fast to watch her favorite cartoons and the fact that she has been scolded due to her tantrums for asking for her dream toy. A kissing scene went through the movie without her parent’s knowledge so she watched the whole kissing scene which has been instilled in her memory until she gets to high school.

 

A young fine lad way back elementary grade school took her heart with severe beating and moist hands and headache asking herself what is wrong with her. She actually had him in her dream, he is about to kiss him but her brother woke her up and laughed at her when she finally woke up. He told her that she is smooching her lips in the air and even tease her that she is dreaming and kissing someone. She got mad at her brother but not because of the teasing but because he woke her up without even finishing the kiss.

 

She never had any problem with her grades/marks in the school because she is witty and gets high grades and that is why she is always on top of the class and never missed any slot for number one. She totally forgotten the toy because she had been busy thinking of that kiss. It was almost 11 years since she longed to have that kiss. She never thought she could have one because she was afraid to be alone with anyone.

 

Summer time came and she went to her Aunt’s house far from her parents 12 hours travel by bus to take a vacation and to see the good situation her Aunt is having which she heard from her cousin’s story.

 

They reached early in the morning so she saw everything on her way. It was the place she would want to live in the future. In short, she loved the environment despite the traffic and the air pollution. Anyway, the place where her Aunt lives has a lovely nature. A wide area for playing even if it is not concrete. The playing area is shaded by two big and strong mango trees fully grown with lots of mangoes and how she wanted to directly climb and get those ripe mangoes. A nice place which seems like she is also in the province. Though it is also a province, it is definitely near to the big city which she planned to roam over and get that dream kiss.

 

Nory, her cousin had a lot of friends but she just remembered and kept friends with Liam and Jake who are always in her Aunt’s house. They are addicted to mangoes and alcohol. She drinks but she is not that much of a drunker. lol But that same day was her first day to get drunk. Her first step. A group of young teenager boys passed by and they happen to know her cousin so they immediately joined in the session. One of the young boys in the group, Chad got interested with her. She felt it and saw it by the way he looks and constantly looking at her and smiling shyly whenever she catches him. He is good looking but she is 3 years older than him. She doesn’t like the idea of it. She liked Paul more who is 7 years older than her whom she adore the moment she saw him but got disappointed when she found out that he is a womanizer.

 

One drinking session for the 10^th time, Chad made his move. He told her directly that he likes her a lot and that he wanted her to be his girlfriend. She told him she don’t believe him. That he is just making fun of her. He told her that 3am in the morning he will come to the playing area. She waited for that early morning. She saw smoke and went outside directly. She made a sign for him to enter the gate and went directly under the mango tree but in the area which her aunt and uncle cannot see if they will wake up suddenly. They met in that dark place under the mango tree and laughed together as they fight the mosquitoes swarming around them.

 

“Why do you like me? How could you? I am older than you and you must like the girls in your age. Why me?” she asked.

 

“I don’t know. I have one dream before that I want to make it happen since I was a kid.” He said while drawing nearer to her in the dark. “Can I kiss you?” he leaned directly without waiting her to answer.

 

She was taken aback but she got shock and got carried away. The kiss that she wanted to experience finally came. And she is kissing him back. It was so good that she cannot stop kissing him back. She could feel that he know how to kiss though he mentioned before during the drinking session that he never kissed anyone before and planning to do it this summer. He said it while looking at her. When the lights on her aunt’s room spread through the window glass, she directly stopped the kiss and pushed him away. He got afraid also so he ran directly over the fence away from that house.

 

”What are you doing there outside in the dark so early? Her Uncle asked. “What is that smoke outside the gate?” 

 

“I can’t sleep so I went outside. That smoke was already there when I went out. I don’t know where it came from.”

 

“Maybe you miss your parents and brothers already. You’ll be going home to your province when your cousin, Amy comes back. So you don’t have to worry at all. Now come inside the house. There are a lot of mosquitoes there. You’ll be full of insect bites when you get home and I don’t want that. What will your parents say?...That we did not take care of you. Come now, go sleep beside your Aunt. I have to prepare now for work. I need to go early.” He left her and went inside the bathroom.

 

When she lay down the bed, she took the long pillow and hugged it and directly slept with a big smile on her face.

 

When she woke up, her cousin Amy came, which means she have to go back to province. And which means she will not see Chad again and will never have that same first kiss again. She gave her cousin a sly smile and packed her things. There is no way to say goodbye to her first kiss. It will be just a bitter sweet memory of a teenage first kiss.
